Count everyone who might want one, not just the dancers. Guests trade them around. We stock 750.
A channel is one transmitter: guests flip their headset to it and hear that music. Under 100 headsets each channel is $40. From 100 headsets, one channel is included per 100; extras are $40 each.
Playlists are yours (phones or laptops plug straight into the transmitters). A live DJ on a channel is $850 and reads the crowd all night. You can't have more DJs than channels.

From browsing the catalog to show day, here is how renting professional-grade AV gear actually works.
Browse the Catalog
Every item shows its overnight and weekend rate. Tap "+ Add to quote" on anything you want, set the quantity right on the card, and the running total follows you down the page.
Send Your List
Tap the red total bar to switch overnight or weekend, add pickup or delivery, and send the list to Mark from right there. You can also share the list with a spouse or planner by link, email or text. Mark confirms availability and sends a firm written quote, usually the same day.
Pick Up Free, or Add Delivery
Pick up free at the Nampa shop, where Mark tests everything with you and walks you through the hookup. Or add delivery for $250 each way. Rentals under $400 are pickup only from the Nampa shop. For full production shows, add an engineer to run it all.

Reserve
Send your list from the catalog and Mark confirms availability with a firm written quote, usually the same day. Every rental carries a damage waiver, 10% of the rental fee with a $25 minimum, so a dropped speaker is not a $1,500 problem. A card on file covers most rentals. Larger systems may need a refundable deposit, and you will be told which before you pay, not after.
Some homeowner and event insurance policies already cover rented gear, so it is worth checking yours before you buy anything extra.
Pick Up
Free pickup at the Nampa shop. Mark tests every piece with you before it leaves and walks you through the hookup, so you are not learning how it works at the venue with guests arriving.
Prefer delivery? $250 each way across the Treasure Valley. Rentals under $400 are pickup only.
Return
Overnight rentals come back the next day. A weekend rental is a Friday pickup and a Monday morning return, which gives you the gear for the whole event at the reduced weekend rate.
Gear failure is on me. I rent pro-grade equipment, I test it before it leaves, and I send backup where it counts. Damage from drops, spills, or weather you did not protect against is on the renter, and that is spelled out in the rental agreement before you pay.
Renting for a bigger production, or want somebody to run it? Add an engineer and I will quote the whole thing rather than just the boxes.

Two 12-inch powered speakers cover 100 to 150 people for music and speeches indoors. Add a subwoofer only if dancing matters. One speaker is fine for speeches alone. If you tell me your guest count and whether you are inside or outside, I will size it for you in one text. Watts on the box mean less than people think, coverage is what matters.
A powered speaker has the amplifier built in. Plug it into the wall, plug in your source, done. That is what 90 percent of renters actually want. You only need a mixer when you have more than two things to plug in, like a mic plus music plus a laptop. One phone into one speaker just needs a cable, and I include it.
Newer speakers in my catalog have Bluetooth built in, or I include the right cable for a wired connection, which never drops out mid-song. Download your playlist before the event. Venue Wi-Fi lies. I walk every renter through the hookup at pickup, it takes five minutes.
Wired is cheaper and cannot fail mid-speech, and honestly works just as well for toasts since you are not moving around much. Wireless is worth it for officiants, roaming hosts, and anyone who wants to walk. When it matters, take both. The wired mic is the backup that has saved more than one wedding.
Battery speakers like the EV Everse 8 run all day on a charge in silence, and they are the right answer for ceremonies and small parties. I also rent quiet inverter generators and Jackery battery stations for bigger rigs. A typical two-speaker setup draws less than a hair dryer, so one standard outlet is plenty when you have power.
If it fails under normal use, that is on me. I rent pro-grade equipment, I test everything before it leaves, and I send backup where it counts. Damage from drops, spills, and weather you did not protect against is on the renter, and that is spelled out plainly in the rental agreement before you pay, not after.
Every rental includes a damage waiver, 10% of the rental fee with a $25 minimum, shown as its own line on your invoice. It covers accidental damage during normal use, a dropped speaker or a blown driver. It does not cover loss, theft, water or weather, misuse, or missing cables. If your homeowner, renter or event policy already covers rented equipment, send a certificate of insurance naming SwissMixx Audio before pickup and the waiver comes off. Larger systems may also need a refundable deposit, and you will be told which before you pay.
A week ahead is safe most of the year. Graduation season, June weddings, and the holidays book out, so grab your date early. If you return gear late, it bills another day. If you are running behind, just call me, I am reasonable.
Equipment rentals are available throughout the Treasure Valley including Boise, Meridian, Nampa, Caldwell, Eagle, Kuna, Star, and surrounding communities. SwissMixx Audio is based in Nampa, Idaho. With a bare rental, you pick up or I deliver the gear and your own crew runs it, that covers most simple setups, like two powered speakers and a wireless mic for speeches. Once you're into a line array system, multiple mics, live music, or a real patch, I bring an operator, because that's the difference between a system that sounds right at 6pm and one that still sounds right at 10pm. Line arrays specifically are only available as an operated service, not a dry rental, since a line array run badly is worse than not having one.
It comes down to headcount and how spread out the crowd is, not the size of the venue. A few hundred people clustered around a stage need a very different rig than a thousand people spread across a field. This is where the RCF line array package earns its keep, it's built for exactly this. Tell me your expected crowd size and layout and I'll size the system instead of guessing.
The standard pickup-or-delivery, you-run-it rental model is Idaho and Treasure Valley only, out of the Nampa shop. SwissMixx Audio also operates out of Clearfield, Utah, but Utah bookings run as full-service production: I bring the same equipment and run it myself rather than shipping gear across state lines for someone else to operate. Same gear, same standard, just staffed instead of dry.
Yes, drums, amps, keyboards, and similar band gear can be added to a booking. Backline comes through a sourcing partner rather than my own inventory, so it's not guaranteed until I confirm it. Let me know as early as possible if your event needs it.
In Idaho, it depends on whether the equipment is operated. A bare rental, where you pick up or I drop off and you run it yourself, is taxable. A fully operated rental, where I supply the operator and run the system for your event, counts as a service and isn't taxed. Your quote always shows exactly what applies.
Pretty much anything that needs sound, from a backyard birthday party to a city festival main stage. Regulars include weddings, corporate meetings and galas, school assemblies and theater productions, church services, fireworks and drone shows, city celebrations and parades, and Oktoberfest-style fall festivals. Just as common: quinceañeras, family reunions, retirement parties, baby and bridal showers, block parties, farmers markets and food truck rallies, car shows, 5Ks and fun runs, and political or campaign events. If you've got a headcount and a date, I can size the right gear for it, whatever the occasion.
